AMD Announces Pervasive AI Developers Contest to Fuel Exciting Real-World Use Cases

Capitalizing on AMD’s comprehensive suite of AI-compatible technology, developers are invited to conceive creative and intriguing AI applications with potential applications in data centers, workstations and laptops, gaming, and robotics, among others. Developers can select from three distinct categories:

Generative AI: Employing the AMD Radeon™ Pro W7900 or MI Instinct™ 210, along with AMD ROCm™ software, developers are urged to push the boundaries of generative AI’s current applications. Robotics AI – Leveraging the Kria™ KR260 Robotics Kit, developers can use the pre-existing interfaces and accelerated applications to construct unique AI-vision-guided robotics applications for a variety of sectors.

PC AI: With the aid of AMD Ryzen™ AI, the first-ever built-in AI engine globally, developers can create applications for PCs using vision, speech, or domain-optimized LLMs to animate the AI PC and underscore its potential to enhance user experience and efficiency. Each category will award a grand prize of $10,000 USD, with additional prizes for runners-up.

Moreover, to encourage innovation within academia and promote diversity within the industry, the AMD University Program will offer a special cash prize to one winning project submitted by a university student, alongside a “Women in Technology” award for the top project submitted by teams predominantly composed of women.

Registration for the contest commences today, November 30, and applications for free hardware close on January 31, 2024.
