According to VideoCardz, AMD is going to introduce a new RDNA 3 powered GPU the Radeon RX 7650 GRE, which would be part of the Golden Rabbit Edition series. We received this information from Hoang Anh Phu to whom CES 2025 was mentioned as the launch event. AMD will probably add this GPU to the RDNA 3 stable before rolling out the RDNA 4 series, which is due in Q1 2025 at the earliest.
More About the AMD Radeon RX 7650 GRE GPU
We have not been provided with concrete specifications for the RX 7650 GRE, however, AMD has already filed for a trademark on its Radeon RX 7600 series which is said to sport two models: the Radeon RX 7600 and Radeon RX 7600 XT. Powered by Navi 33 GPU core with 32 compute units, 2048 stream processors, 64 AI accelerators, and a 128-bit memory interface w/18 Gbps modules. Meanwhile, the RX 7600 XT is amplified with up to 16 GB of memory and a peak clock speed of 2.76 GHz in comparison to the RX 7600 model which only offers 8 GB of memory and clocks the highest at 2.66 GHz. XT gets 190W, non-XT 165W power limit.
Additionally, due to the RX 7600 Series seemingly not leaving much for additional SKUs, AMD still may opt for an RX 7650 GRE as an entry-level SKU. Historically, “GRE” releases have been limited to the Asia Pacific region, but AMD has shown interest in launching products in the US and EU markets, as demonstrated by the RX 7900 GRE. It’s possible that the RX 7650 GRE will utilize a cut-down Navi 32 GPU, offering a sensible alternative to releasing another GPU with similar specifications to the Navi 33 models.
With the Radeon RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT already priced under $300, the RX 7650 GRE is expected to be positioned similarly. This launch is somewhat unconventional for AMD, as they are also preparing a budget and mainstream lineup under the next-gen RDNA 4 architecture. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
