AMD Extends 3rd Gen EPYC CPU Lineup to Deliver New Levels of Value

AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) expanded its 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processor family with six additional solutions, giving a varied data centre CPU suite for general IT and mainstream computing, enabling enterprises to capitalise on proven platform economics. The 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPU family improves the performance and efficiency of 4th Gen processors while also being cost-effective, having up-to-date security features, and using less energy for everyday business tasks.

AMD strengthens compelling 3rd Gen EPYC CPU portfolio, delivering performance and energy efficiency for servers supporting essential business infrastructure

IT decision-makers seeking mainstream performance face a technological divide due to the competition to offer AI and high-performance computing. AMD is adding more 3rd Gen EPYC CPUs to its lineup to give businesses better value, performance, energy efficiency, and security for their most important programs. This is to meet the growing demand for widely used, low-cost, and tried-and-true mainstream solutions in the mid-market and channel. Cisco, Dell Technologies, Gigabyte, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro support a wide range of enterprise server systems using the 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPU family.

Dan McNamara, senior vice president and general manager, Server Business Unit, AMD, stated “Today’s CIOs and IT decision makers leveraging ageing data centre infrastructure need a straightforward, seamless upgrade path towards next-generation technologies at a pace that meets their needs “We see an opportunity to give our customers more options that bring EPYC’s leadership performance and efficiency to less technically demanding but business-critical workloads. 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPUs power servers with remarkable price-performance on extensively deployed, cost-effective, and proven mainstream technologies.

3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPUs with “Zen 3” core architecture provide high-performance solutions in top corporations, cloud service providers, government, and financial institutions. Emirates NBD Bank used 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPUs to boost performance, consolidate business-critical workloads, and optimise their private cloud infrastructure. MonetaGo also used AMD EPYC CPU-powered Google Cloud Confidential Computing to prevent financing fraud and make financing safer and more accessible.

Wide Ecosystem Support

Several reputable partners sell systems with 3rd Gen EPYC CPUs. These cost-effective solutions provide advanced security and energy efficiency.

“Cisco’s long-term relationship with AMD and our commitment to deliver world-class UCS rack servers and EPYC-based blade servers will help us meet our customers’ data centre design needs,” said Jeremy Foster, Cisco’s general manager and senior vice president, compute. Cisco UCS servers, powered by 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processors, enable our clients to scale any workload and maximise the value of their IT infrastructure as they move to next-generation technologies.

Since 2016, GIGABYTE has worked closely with AMD on EPYC CPUs. “We designed a wide range of incredible systems for AI & HPC, cloud, and the edge,” said Giga Computing sales vice president Vincent Wang. “Gigabyte is pleased to know EPYC processors will offer leading performance with DDR5 and PCIe Gen5 and cost and energy efficiency with DDR4 and Gen4. Therefore, we hope to provide a competitive solution to every market.”

“Combining the industry-leading reliability of Lenovo ThinkSystem servers and the 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPUs, we are providing increased value for customers looking for effective price-performance servers for enterprise applications,” said Kamran Amini, vice president and general manager of Server & Storage, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Our worldwide channel partners may provide right-size alternatives and value with these services as we facilitate intelligent transformation.

With up to eight channels of fast DDR4 memory and 128 lanes of high-throughput PCIe® Gen 4, 3rd Gen AMD EPYC CPUs help clients maximise IT infrastructure investments. The whole portfolio of 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processors is available now and interoperable with AMD EPYC 7003 Series CPU-based systems, making upgrades easy.
