AMD confirms Custom Graphics IP integration to Samsung’s next flagship SoCs, will have ray-tracing and variable rate shading

In the present mobile phone market, the Snapdragon 888 is almost at the top as per the performance, obviously if we keep the Bionics aside. Samsung in there in the SoC market and promote its chips mainly via its own smart devices. Though in most cases, lacks behind due to the GPU performance. To resolve it, Samsung partnered with AMD a couple of years ago.

Since then so many leaks came out from various sources on what exactly both the giants are doing and when we can get the results officially. For the beginning of this cursed 2021, people were excited to experience the breakthrough of the always neglected Exynos processors. Everyone was expecting the launch of Samsung’s next flagship processor.

Today, at COMPUTEX 2021 the CEO of AMD, Lisa Su officially announces that the AMD RDNA 2 is coming to the mobile phone processor market through Samsung’s next flagship processors. The collaborative work between AMD and Samsung will enable the custom graphics IP to the Exynos’ next flagships with ray-tracing and variable rate shading capabilities.

Samsung’s latest one is Exynos 2100. That means we need to wait for the successor of it to experience the RDNA 2 in smartphones.

Altogether, Samsung is getting ready for a head-to-head with Apple, Qualcomm, and MediaTek the AMD RDNA 2 GPU. You can go through our earlier article for a better understanding (click here).
