With the increasing demand for cloud computing services, more and more companies and countries are rushing to adopt the latest technology. India is also looking to establish itself in this race to the next generation of the business-oriented tech market.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is investing 207.6 billion rupees ($2.8 billion) in setting up multiple data centers in the southern Indian state of Telangana, K.T. Rama Rao, state’s minister for information technology said in a tweet.

Amazon earlier opened its first data hub in Mumbai in 2016. AWS recently announced the launch of its second AWS region in India, to be built in Telangana.

AWS Asia Pacific region in Hyderabad will consist of three availability zones (AZ) in India. This is in addition to the existing three availability zones that are a part of the Mumbai Region. The newly launched Hyderabad Region will join the existing nine AWS Regions and 26 Availability Zones across Asia in India, Australia, Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Singapore.

With the advent of AWS, India will emerge as someone with various cloud data centers. But this will also be good for the country in terms of economy and increasing employment.
