The present coronavirus pandemic forced us to follow some basic safety measures to break the infection spread chain. One of those restrictions is the avoidance of gatherings. As a result, all public places like malls, theaters are closed for an uncertain duration. At this kind of critical situation, Amazon got rights to globally premiere seven Indian movies on its platform as all the theaters are closed.
All the Prime members will be able to enjoy these seven movies without any extra cost and that is also from their comfort zone. The movie list contains “Gulabo Sitabo” of Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, “Shakuntala Devi” of Vidya Balan along with “Ponmagal Vandhal”, “Penguin”, “Law”, “French Biriyani”, and “Sufiyum Sujatayum”.

This is quite obvious that this certain decision of the production houses leaves an impact on INOX and PVR. In a statement, INOX informed, “Such acts, though isolated, vitiate the atmosphere of mutual partnership and paint these content producers as fair-weather friends rather than all-weather lifelong partners. Needless to say, INOX will be constrained to examine its options, and reserve all rights, including taking retributive measures, in dealing with such fair-weather friends.”
Besides the co-producer of Gulabo Sitabo, Ronnie Lahiri presented his opinion, “We’re facing a once-in-a-lifetime phenomena, not seen since World War 2. These are the times when things change. Initially, people have apprehensions but one has to adopt. That’s how human civilisations have prospered. The minute we stop adapting, we’re done. Instead of waiting for the situation to get better, you tackle it with other alternatives.”
The premiers will be spread out over next three months, but will begin to stream from this month.
