The Amazon Great Indian Festival sale is currently active, and it will be accessible to all shoppers. Ahead of this sale, Amazon appears to have introduced a new Prime tier for shoppers. Presently, a Prime subscription in India costs ₹1,499, providing various benefits, including free and fast delivery, exclusive offers, and early access via the Amazon App. Additionally, it grants access to Amazon Prime Video and Prime Music.

All About the Amazon Prime New Plan

Aside from the standard Amazon Prime membership, there is also ₹599 plan that specifically offers access to Prime Video on mobile devices. Now, Amazon has quietly unveiled a new plan called the Amazon Prime Shopping Edition, focused solely on shopping benefits. Let’s delve into the details of the Amazon Prime Shopping Edition plan.

The Amazon Prime Shopping Edition subscription is priced at ₹399 per year in India. The Amazon Prime Shopping Edition offers exclusive benefits, including early access to deals with festive offers, unlimited free one-day delivery for over 40 lakh+ items, early access to shopping events, and a 5% cashback feature when using the Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card.

While these are the benefits offered with this new plan, it’s important to note that the Amazon Prime Shopping Edition does not include Prime Video and Prime Music. These two subscriptions are not bundled with this shopping-focused plan.

Furthermore, the new Prime Shopping Edition is said to be exclusively available for Android devices. The plan is reported to work solely on the Android app and Android mobile browsers. In contrast to Flipkart VIP, which is only accessible in select cities across India, the new Prime membership is expected to be available in multiple cities across the country.

Amazon’s target audience for this plan is Android users, considering that there are over 650 million smartphone users in India, with more than 85% of them using Android devices, as per the report. It remains unclear whether this plan has been introduced only for the duration of the Great Indian Festival Sale or if it will become available to a broader audience later in the year, following the sale.
