Kerala Blasters striker Alvaro Vasquez could be on his way to FC Goa for the coming ISL season. The player’s contract with the club expires at the end of May, and he will be able to leave as a free agent when his deal runs out.
According to Marcus Mergulhao, the striker has agreed a two-year deal with Goa, despite offers from the United States and China. Goa were interested in signing him last season as well, but failed to do so because they were in a hurry and were not willing to wait till the end of the international transfer window.
Alvaro Vasquez set for FC Goa move at the end of contract
The 30-year-old was among the top forwards in the ISL this past season. He scored eight goals and provided two assists for Kerala Blasters as they finished fourth in the table.
Goa, on the other hand, struggled for goals this past season and finished near the bottom of the table. They only managed to score 29 throughout the season, which is their worst tally since 2016, and also failed to make it to the semifinals for the first time since then.
With the arrival of a proven striker like Alvaro Vasquez, who also has international experience, FC Goa will be hopeful of a better outcome next season.
