Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have reportedly reached a verbal agreement over the transfer of Alphonso Davies, according to The Athletic. The Canadian will only have one year left on his contract this summer, and there were rumours that an offer worth €40-50 million could be made for the left-back.
If Bayern are unable to sell him, he will have the liberty to walk out as a free agent when his deal runs out in 2025. Bayern already experienced a similar incident with David Alaba, when he decided to not renew his deal and chose Madrid. Now, they are in a similar situation with Davies.

The left-back has been clear about his desire to join only Real Madrid after his impressive spell with the Bavarians. And as things stand, he is on course to get that transfer this year or next summer. Bayern, of course, will want to avoid losing him for free and will still try to offer him a new contract.
If he refuses to sign a new deal, perhaps with a Madrid-specific release clause, he could be sold this summer. More clarity on the situation will come in the next few weeks, as personal terms have already been agreed with the Canadian.
