Alphonso Davies has dropped a hint he is dissatisfied with his position at Bayern Munich amidst a connection with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The star defender has been a key part of Munich since joining hands with them from his native Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.
Alphonso Davies hints that he unhappy with his current position at Bayern Munich
Davies’s performances in claiming five league championships in Germany and 2020’s Champions League success have resulted in transfer speculation.
Alphonso Davies has now revealed that Bayern signed him to replace Arjen Robben in attack but is currently ‘stuck’ at four years at left-back following his move to Germany.
He said,
“I was signed to replace Arjen Robben and when David Alaba got injured, I was then used as a full-back. And now, three, four years later, I’m stuck there.”
Davies even included that he is waiting for the chance to play at the top, but it seems that Bayern already has several players for that position.
Roben parted ways with Bayern in the Summer of 2019 and has been replaced by names like Serge Ganbry and Leroy Same, and Davies as the first choice left back.
At present the club is having a discussion about a contract with the Canadian, who at present is linked to the German champions until 2025.
Will he move to Real Madrid?
There are talks about Davies’ move to Real Madrid. However, they might wait until next year when he has just a year left with his current club.
His other potential suitor is Champions League winners Manchester City. Both the clubs seem to have a good competition to sign Alphonso Davies.
In his more than 106 appearances for Munich, he has scored six goals. He also has 39 national appearances, including 13 goals.
