Alone in the Dark Remastered was scheduled to release in October, however, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive have now postponed it until January 16th, 2024. The reason is something that we can quite understand.
Alone in the Dark Remastered is delayed because there are simply too many games coming out in October 2023.
The 3D survival horror game genre was invented by the original Alone in the Dark, which was released on PC in 1992. Its fixed camera angles and puzzle-centered design undoubtedly served as an inspiration for the first Resident Evil, which later developed into an even more lucrative horror franchise. While the Alone in the Dark series suffered from a spate of subpar titles and went dormant for a while, franchise owner THQ Nordic decided to borrow a page from Capcom’s playbook and launch a third-person remake. Given that it has Hollywood A-listers like David Harbour and Jodie Comer, it is expected to be a huge game launch for THQ Nordic.
Thus, it makes sense that the game’s release would be moved to a time when it has a better chance of being successful rather than just a few days after titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake 2. On January 16, 2024, Alone in the Dark becomes available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
