For all the spending Everton have done in the transfer market, they have fallen short of their objective of getting back to Europe. Right now, things need a change under Rafa Benitez despite his past.

The Gunners are currently in a rebuilding phase, and are offloading fringe players. They are also close to signing Ben White from Brighton which will set them back about £50 million.
3. Aston Villa | -£247.86m
Villa have completely turned things around since returning to the Premier League, and have a squad worthy of challenging for Europe. Given their transfer record, fans will be hoping to see the spending pay off now.
2. Man City | -£366.31m
The Champions of England are notorious for splashing money in the transfer market, and they have made some great investments over the past few years. The best part about all the money being spent is that it has resulted in significant results and silverware.
1. Man United | – £457.60m
United currently have the worst transfer record in England, with the signing of Jadon Sancho increasing the negative score. If they sign Raphel Varane for £50 million, it will certainly drop into a negative half billion pounds of debt.
Norwich and Brentford are the only two clubs who have made a profit in the last four years. Chelsea are just behind the big six in 7th, followed by Wolves, Tottenham and Liverpool. This is despite their massive spending spree in 2020, which was following their transfer ban.
The fact that Jurgen Klopp has managed to win the Premier League whilst not breaking the bank only goes to show how good of a manager he is, especially with negative £150 million received. The most impressive performance in the market remains that of Leicester, who continue to be in European spots despite being outside the top ten spenders in England.
