Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has made its global debut today with the launch expected around the festive season 2022. Powered by two engine options, hosting loads of modern features and bringing safety closer to home, Grand Vitara will launch expected around the festive season 2022.
Pricing for the Grand Vitara is yet to be announced but it the expected to be priced at around Rs 9.5 lakh. Bookings for the Grand Vitara SUV have been underway since July 11 for a token amount of Rs 11,000, and it will be sold through Maruti‘s premium Nexa dealerships.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Design & Engine
Grand Vitara has its own identity via NEXA’s ‘Crafted Futurism’ design language. By that we mean a different front grille and mesh design up front, as well as beefier NEXA-style triple element LED DRLs. Moreover, the midsize SUV leads Maruti Suzuki’s exploration of a new customer base. There’s also generous use of bling, with a thick chrome strip connecting the LED DRLs.
A chrome strip runs across the width of the tailgate, which houses the Suzuki logo, and merges neatly into the tail-lamps. The Grand Vitara nameplate is placed in the centre, right below the logo. It features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and wireless phone charger.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the first SUV from the Indian automaker to be blessed with a hybrid powertrain. It comes with a 116PS 1.5-litre petrol strong-hybrid engine and a 103PS 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine. The engine will be paired either to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and be offered with Suzuki’s All-Grip AWD technology. This engine option does a company claimed 21.11 kpl for the 2WD manual variant, 20.58 kpl for the automatic and 19.38 kpl for the AllGrip AWD. Furthermore, the SUV will get an all-wheel-drive system making it better than a few of its rivals.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Rivals & Price
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will likely compete in the Indian market against vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Jeep Compass, and others.
Maruti Suzuki has not announced the pricing of the Grand Vitara yet, however, as per speculations and leaks, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be priced from Rs 9.5 lakh onwards, ex-showroom. The new Grand Vitara’s production will start in August at Toyota’s facility and the price announcement will take place in September this year, right around the festive season.
