Alisson has cost Liverpool more goals than Loris Karius

Alisson Becker is arguably the best goalkeeper right now in the world of football. But we saw some uncharacteristic error from the Brazilian against Arsenal, on Wednesday. He gave away the ball to Arsenal’s Lacazatte which resulted in a goal and won the match for Arsenal.

Liverpool’s former goalkeeper Loris Karius is known to the world for his 2018 Champions League final blunder. His poor throw was intercepted by Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who scored the opening goal.

Sadio Mane equalized for the Reds but Gareth Bale’s stunning bicycle kick gave Madrid the lead before Karius again fumbled Bale’s long shot and the ball went into the net. The final score was 3-1 as Real Madrid won their third straight Champions League title. Karius sadly became the villain of the night.

Now, here’s a stat that will definitely give you a shock!

In the last four years, Alisson Becker has actually cost Liverpool more goals than either Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet in the Premier League (without taking into consideration European competitions).

Alisson’s poor pass against Arsenal was his fourth error which directly led to a goal. It’s pretty surprising to see one of the best shot-stoppers conceding so many errors!
