Manchester United have reached an agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr for the transfer of Alex Telles. The player spent this past season on loan with Sevilla and won the Europa League with them. Now, he has moved on from United and has agreed a contract which will see him earn £7 million per season in the Gulf State.
Al Nassr will pay United a fee worth £4 million plus add-ons for the left-back, and he has become the latest addition to their squad this summer. Marcelo Brozovic and Seko Fofana have already signed, and Telles will follow soon, reuniting with former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Alex Telles signs for Al Nassr from Manchester United
The Brazilian arrived at United to challenge Luke Shaw for his spot at left-back from Porto in 2020. However, he could not displace the Englishman from his spot and was eventually loaned out to Sevilla last summer. The Spanish side chose not to make his loan move permanent, and he will now be leaving the major European leagues to play in Saudi Arabia.
Ove two years, Alex Telles made 50 appearances for the Red Devils. With Tyrell Malacia also in the squad now, he wouldn’t have been able to get much playing time had he stayed on.
The official announcement from the club has confirmed his arrival, making him the latest from Europe’s top leagues to make the switch. And he won’t be the last either, with more players eager to make the move.
