Brazilian midfielder Allan has completed a transfer to UAE side Al Wahda from Everton. The player’s arrival has been made official by the club on their social media pages, after he seemingly terminated his contract with the English side.
The 31-year-old arrived in the Premier League from Napoli in a deal worth £21 million that reunited him with Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park. However, the arrival of Idrissa Gana-Gueye and Amadou Onana has pushed Allan down in the pecking order under Frank Lampard.
Allan joins Al Wahda on a two-year deal
“Al Wahda Football Club has contracted the Brazilian player Allan Marcos in a permanent transfer deal from the English club Everton with a two-season contract as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen the ranks of the first team and meet the requirements of success,” the Abu Dhabi side wrote in relation to their new signing.
Al Wahda are currently tenth in the table, and could do with the boost they get from a talent like Allan, especially with the experience that he brings.
The midfielder earned 10 caps for the Brazilian national team, and won the 2019 Copa America with them. He joins a growing list of players to have left Europe to join Middle Eastern clubs this summer.
