Barcelona are close to agreeing a deal with Al Ahli for the transfer of Franck Kessie. The development comes after news that they have offloaded Ousmane Dembele to PSG for a fee worth €50 million via a private release clause.

The Saudi Arabian club have made an offer worth €15 million for the midfielder, which could be accepted by Barcelona in the coming days. The deal is in the advanced stages and it seems only a matter of time before it is wrapped up.

The Ivorian has spent only one season with Barcelona, winning the league title after his arrival from AC Milan. And amidst rumours that he could be headed to the Premier League, Al Ahli have stepped up in their pursuit of the player.

Franck Kessie has agreed a three-year contract with the club, which will see him join the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy to have made the move to Al Ahli this summer.

Barcelona have a wealth of talent in midfield, including new signings Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu, which means that they have the means to replace the player once he leaves. In addition, they are planning to reinvest the transfer fee of Dembele and Kessie into a deal for Joao Cancelo from Manchester City, with the Portuguese full-back one of the top targets for them this summer.
