After completing the transfer of Roberto Firmino on a free deal, Al Ahli are pursuing Sadio Mane as their next signing. The Senegalese forward has had a very difficult time in his first season at Bayern Munich, and could be on his way out after only one year.
Mane was among the best players in the Premier League during his time at Liverpool. But he has been unable to recapture his form in the Bundesliga so far. To drive the point home, he was even voted the most disappointing player in the Bundesliga this past season.
Sadio Mane a target for Al Ahli this summer
Al Ahli have offered a three-year contract to the forward, but he hasn’t accepted their proposal as of yet. Mane still has two years left to run on his deal with Bayern Munich, but he could leave to pursue a new opportunity. A transfer fee would be involved, but the amount has not been disclosed as of yet.
The decision of the player will be vital in dictating whether or not the transfer goes through. Other clubs across Europe are also interested in signing him and his options are still open so far.
In the 22/23 season, Sadio Mane scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 38 games across all competitions as Bayern won the Bundesliga title. However, he didn’t become a popular figure in the dressing room and was even involved in a bust-up with teammate Leroy Sane.
Owing to his mixed first season with Bayern, there is a chance that he could be on the move. However, nothing has been finalised as of yet.
