Let’s not sugarcoat it — Akshay Kumar fans have had a rough few years. Film after film underperformed, and questions about his box office pull started getting louder. But *Bhooth Bangla*, directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, is changing that conversation one week at a time.

### Bhooth Bangla Box Office — Complete Week-by-Week Breakdown

The Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer collected Rs. 21 crore in its third week, with Rs. 1.40 crore added on the third Thursday alone — though it did register a nearly 50% drop from the previous week. A mid-week dip in Week 3 is perfectly normal for any film, and the overall momentum remains solid.

| Period | Nett Collection |
| --- | --- |
| Week 1 | Rs. 80.50 crore |
| Week 2 | Rs. 41.50 crore |
| 3rd Friday | Rs. 4.50 crore |
| 3rd Saturday | Rs. 4.50 crore |
| 3rd Sunday | Rs. 5.50 crore |
| 3rd Monday | Rs. 1.60 crore |
| 3rd Tuesday | Rs. 2.00 crore |
| 3rd Wednesday | Rs. 1.50 crore |
| 3rd Thursday | Rs. 1.40 crore (est.) |
| **21-Day Total** | **Rs. 143 crore** |

### Why Rs 150 Crore Is Almost Certain Now

With a free run expected in its fourth week and no major competition, the film is projected to add Rs. 9–10 crore more, which will comfortably push it past the Rs. 150 crore nett mark. The full theatrical run is shaping up to land somewhere between Rs. 155–160 crore nett — a genuinely strong result for a mid-budget Hindi horror comedy.

The [horror comedy genre in Bollywood](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_comedy) has always been a crowd-pleaser when done right, and Priyadarshan — the master of comedy — has clearly cracked the formula with this one.

### The Bigger Picture: Why Akshay Kumar’s Hit Matters for Bollywood

This isn’t just a personal win for Khiladi Kumar — it carries real weight for the entire industry. Akshay Kumar has gone through a rough patch post-pandemic with a string of underperformers, and while last year saw some decent results, none crossed the HIT threshold — making *Bhooth Bangla* his first confirmed HIT in a long time.

The industry tends to do well when Akshay Kumar is doing well — he may not deliver Rs. 500 crore blockbusters, but two or three hits a year from a prolific star is equally important because it keeps the box office ticking consistently, something very few actors in Bollywood manage to do.

Simply put: a thriving Akshay Kumar is good news for Hindi cinema as a whole.
