Manchester United have their eyes on the Dutch midfielder Donny Van De Beek as their first summer signing.
Multiple reports in Europe claimed that Manchester United is going to flash the cash for the Ajax star. Ajax has set a €40m price tag for the midfielder.
FC Barcelona and Real Madrid were initially interested in the midfielder. But no official bid was made by any club. Manchester United was also monitoring the midfielder for a long time.
Manchester United wanted Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. But they didn’t want to spend €80m on him. Now they want the Ajax star.
Manchester United finished 3rd the premier league last season and will be playing in UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season. They need some quality players in the team to fight for all the titles. But they are yet to sign any player till now. Ajax midfielder can be the first one.

Manchester United legend Edwin Van Der Sar is the marketing director of Ajax. So United has an advantage in negotiating a deal with Ajax.
Ajax manager Eric Tan Haag said after Van De Beek’s departure: “Agreements have been made with him for a transfer so when this opportunity arrives for him, we will cooperate. He is an absolutely key player for us, a very modern midfielder with lots of depth in his play. It’s clear that we will miss him a lot once he’s gone.”.
Donny Van De Beek has been left out of the Ajax team for the practice match against Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin as it confirmed he will leave the Netherlands side this summer.
It will be a great signing for Manchester United and he will surely increase the depth of the squad.
