The Indian National Football Team will be back in action after almost 16 months. They last played an international fixture in November 2019. India will take on Oman on Thursday, 25th March in an international friendly. Again, on Monday, 29th March, India will play against UAE in another international friendly match.

The popularity of the Indian national football team has skyrocketed in the last few years. They now have a large fan base, and all those Indian football fans deserve to watch their national football team take the field for the very first time after the Coronavirus pandemic.

But there hasn’t been any confirmed news about the broadcast of the two international friendly matches in India. There was a recent Twitter trend, #AIFFWakeUp, urging the Indian officials to arrange a broadcast in India.

It has now been learned that AIFF has agreed on terms with BeIN Sports to obtain the feed of the India vs UAE international friendly match. However, there hasn’t been a confirmation from any Indian broadcaster, as Star Sports wrote on Twitter that they don’t have the rights to broadcast the two matches. But, AIFF is confident to find some solution and broadcast India vs UAE match.

The main matter of concern is regarding the India vs Oman international friendly match. There are technical issues with Oman TV as it uplinks to Arabsat, which cannot be downlinked in India. But it has been understood that AIFF is trying to sort things out in the next couple of days.

These international friendly matches are a preparation for the last leg of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers which will take place in June.
