A cold-on-the-outside farmer named “Quail.” A top home shopping host who can’t sleep. And a bickering dynamic that already has fans sold before a single episode has aired. [SBS](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul_Broadcasting_System)‘s upcoming romantic comedy *Sold Out On You* has officially confirmed its premiere date and released a sneak peek from the script reading — and if the on-set energy is anything to go by, this April arrival is shaping up to be one of the most charming K-dramas of 2026.

## What Is *Sold Out On You* About?

The drama centres on **Matthew Lee** (Ahn Hyo Seop), a perfectionist farmer who juggles multiple jobs and whose Korean name sounds amusingly like “Mechoori” — meaning Quail — a nickname that has stuck. He is cold on the outside but quietly warm-hearted within, the kind of man who adds tractor sound effects to everything just to bring a little life to the routine.

His collision course is with **Dam Ye Jin** (Chae Won Bin), a highly successful home shopping show host who suffers from **severe insomnia** — bubbly and confident on screen but privately struggling with a condition that has quietly upended her life.

It’s a classic opposites-attract setup with a genuinely fresh twist: one person who is grounded in the literal soil of the earth, and another who is living under the glare of studio lights, unable to switch off. Their friction — and eventual warmth — is already visible from the script reading alone.

## The Script Reading Sets the Tone Beautifully

Director Ahn Jong Yeon opened the reading with the words, “I’ll make an enjoyable and happy set” — and the cast clearly delivered on that promise. Ahn Hyo Seop captured Matthew’s prickly exterior through a sharp tone while letting warmth slip through his gaze. Chae Won Bin lit up the room with Dam Ye Jin’s infectious confidence, particularly in a scene where her character is working hard to persuade someone against the odds.

**Kim Bum** brings emotional depth and quiet affection as Seo Eric, an executive director at a cosmetics brand, while veteran actress **Go Doo Shim** charmed everyone with her dialect and smile as a powerful matriarch figure in Deokpoong Village.
