After PUBG, TikTok Hints Comeback in India

Here is good news for Indian TikTok users that it might re-enter the Indian market. After the Galwan Valley issue, the Indian Government decided to ban 57 Chinese apps along with TikTok. After that, again for the second time, the Indian Government banned 117 more apps and PUBG.

Recently PUBG has declared officially that it is returning to India with Microsoft. All the user database of the players will be stored in Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure. After the official confirmation from PUBG, TikTok head of India, Nikhil Gandhi told his employees in a mail that the company is working with the government to take care of the issues for what the short video platform was banned in the country.

Gandhi wrote in the email: “We remain committed to the positive impact our platforms can have on society. Our employees have been at the heart of our business and we place the utmost importance on our employees’ personal and professional well-being,” Gandhi said in the email, according to people familiar with the matter.

He also informed that “We have demonstrated unequivocal commitment to comply with the local laws, including data privacy and security requirements, and are therefore optimistic about a positive outcome. Our clarifications have been submitted to the Government and we will continue to allay any further concerns they may have. Together with our employees, we remain dedicated to our users and creators who have found not only recognition but also new avenues of livelihood through our platform”.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok has near about 2000 employees in India, who takes care of the TikTok and Helo operations. The company gave a bonus to its employees this year.

The management team of TikTok is working hard to revoke the ban in India. According to the rumors, the negotiations are still at an initial stage. Let’s see how much time it takes to make a comeback in India.
