## **Why Did Kim Soo Hyun Go on Hiatus?**

In March 2025, Kim Soo Hyun was swept into a major controversy when allegations surfaced about a relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Among the claims were suspicions of a long-term relationship that allegedly began in 2015, when she was a minor, along with separate accusations related to debt collection.

Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference firmly denying these claims, stating the relationship only began after she had reached adulthood. Despite his denial, the fallout was swift — several brands ended their endorsement contracts with him, and the Disney+ series *Knock-Off*, set for release last year, was placed on indefinite hold.

## **A Key Turn: AI Fabrication Exposed**

The controversy took a significant turn when YouTuber Kim Se Eui of the channel HoverLab Inc. was arrested and referred to the prosecution. Police determined that Kim Se Eui had used **AI technology to manipulate the late Kim Sae Ron’s voice** and fabricate KakaoTalk chat conversations that had been presented as evidence of the alleged relationship — a development that has reshaped public perception of the entire case.

## **What This Comeback Means**

Choosing Bench — one of Southeast Asia’s most recognizable fashion brands with a massive Filipino fanbase — as the vehicle for his return is a telling move. It signals a careful, international-first reintroduction rather than an immediate dive back into the Korean domestic market. Whether *Knock-Off* eventually gets a release date remains the bigger question fans are watching closely.
