K-pop’s boundary-breaking girl group aespa has been steadily expanding their international footprint, and their latest milestone is one for the history books. With their brand-new title track “Lemonade,” the SM Entertainment quartet has achieved something no aespa release has ever done before — cracking the United Kingdom’s prestigious Official Singles Chart.

## aespa Historic Chart Numbers

On June 5 local time, the Official Charts — widely regarded as the UK equivalent to Billboard’s US charts — confirmed that aespa had made their debut on the Official Singles Chart. For the week of June 4 to 10, “Lemonade” entered at No. 95, marking the group’s first-ever chart entry in the UK. But that’s not where the good news ends.

| Chart | Position |
| --- | --- |
| UK Official Singles Chart | No. 95 (debut) |
| Official Singles Downloads Chart | No. 13 |
| Official Singles Sales Chart | No. 15 |

“Lemonade” also debuted at No. 13 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and No. 15 on the Official Singles Sales Chart in the same week — showing that British fans aren’t just streaming the track, they’re actively buying it too. That’s genuine, committed fandom.

## Why This Milestone Matters

Landing on the UK Official Singles Chart is no small feat for any artist, let alone a K-pop group singing primarily in Korean. The UK market is notoriously competitive and tastemaker-driven. According to [Wikipedia’s overview of the UK Singles Chart](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Singles_Chart), the chart has been a global benchmark for music success since 1952 — making aespa’s first-ever entry there a genuinely significant cultural moment for the K-pop genre as a whole.

K-pop’s global expansion has been remarkable, with groups like BTS and BLACKPINK paving the way. aespa adding the UK to their chart resume with “Lemonade” continues that exciting wave.
