Manchester United finished second behind Manchester City last season. They are now preparing to challenge their city rivals for the Premier League title. They have already signed English winger Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and is on the verge of signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. Adidas and Manchester United presents the new 2021/22 season home jersey, inspired by the three pillars of the club’s philosophy: youth, courage, and success.

To create a modern yet classic look, the new shirt features a subtle tonal three-pillared stripe pattern engineered into the fabric, whilst staying true to Manchester United’s iconic red jerseys of the past.

The philosophy is further brought to life with the “youth, courage, success” mantra printed on the back neck tape inside the jersey, whilst the stripe design continues onto the shorts – a nod to kits of the 80s when adidas and Manchester United first joined forces – on an elegant Cloud White base color.

The jersey also references the famous long-sleeve ringer shirts – with white cuffs and collar worn in the 1960s – for an updated nostalgic design that features the latest in adidas fabric innovation: HEAT.RDY – KEEP COOL, which is designed to keep players feeling cool, dry, and confident during play. The red devil appears on the back of the shirt for the first time in club history; an iconic logo that goes back to the core of the jersey, sitting underneath the back of the round-neck collar. The gold devil sign off is also included on the front of the socks.

Inigo Turner, Design Director at adidas, said: “At adidas we know that from the days of Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now, it’s always been important that the club’s success is built upon its philosophy of youth, courage and success. For that reason, when it came to designing the 2021/22 shirt, we took our inspiration from there and we hope that this will resonate with all supporters around the world.”

The new jersey is made with PRIMEGREEN, a series of high-performance recycled materials, putting sustainability at the heart of the innovation. The replica shirt offers similar benefits to the inclusion of AEROREADY – FEEL READY technology, keeping fans comfortable and ready as it absorbs moisture for a dry feeling.

The shirt is going to be the first Manchester United jersey to launch with the new principal shirt partner TeamViewer, following the announcement of the club’s partnership with the global technology company announced in March this year.

On 18th July, Sunday, the new jersey was worn for the first time on the pitch and now it is available to be purchased via shop.adidas.co.in, and selected adidas stores.
