Manchester City & Juventus chase to land Wolves' attacker Adama Traore

Adama Traore has established himself as a special physical specimen in the Premier League. Not only is he one of the fastest in the league, but he is also one of the strongest across all 20 teams.

According to a stat, Traore has completed 38 take-ons in 4 games for Wolves, which is the most across Europe’s top five leagues. In contrast, Newcastle United forward Allan Saint-Maximin has completed 20 and Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies and Houssem Aouar have all completed 18 take-ons each.

Considering Traore’s ability on the ball, and his frightening pace, he has the potential to be one of the best players in the league. However, in four games this season for Wolves, he is yet to provide a goal or an assist.

Most take-ons completed in Europe's top five leagues this season:

◎ Allan Saint-Maximin (20)
◎ Alphonso Davies (18)
◎ Kylian Mbappé (18)
◎ Houssem Aouar (18)

Traore has earned 8 caps for the Spain national team, and is yet to score his first goal for La Roja. In 41 games across all competitions last season, Traore only had 3 goals and assists each. However, in 19/20, he provided 6 goals and 12 assists across 54 games in all competitions.

The common theme throughout these numbers is his lack of end product, especially now, under Bruno Lage. There have been suggestions that Traore should be converted into a full-back or wing-back from a winger, since he lacks the decision-making in the final third.

The La Masia graduate is 25, and is set to enter his prime years as a footballer. So, if he manages to work on his finishing or chance creation, he could become one of the top assets of Wolves since he already has the ability to carry the ball forward like nobody else.
