Barcelona are unwilling to pay the €30 million price tag for Adama Traore to make his loan transfer from Wolves permanent. The Spain international is on loan at Camp Nou until the end of the season, and will be returning to the Molineux when it is over.
His future with Bruno Lage’s side seems uncertain as well, and he could leave again for a new club. Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with his services in the past, and could yet negotiate a deal for him this summer too.
Adama Traore future uncertain after Barca rule out permanent move
The 26-year-old has only made three league starts since returning to Barcelona, and is now spending most of his time on the bench. The resurgence of Ousmane Dembele has played a big part in Xavi’s omission of Adama Traore.
The Frenchman has been in excellent form over the last few months, and has provided 11 assists in 18 games this season. Although he might leave with his contract expiring at the end of the season, he has given Xavi a reason to play him in almost every game.
Barcelona could keep Traore if Wolves were to do the same for Francisco Trincao, who is on loan with the Premier League side. But, they have no intentions of making the Portuguese winger’s transfer permanent. As a result, both players will be returning to their parent clubs at the end of the season.
