A century is generally regarded as a landmark for a batter in any format of cricket. It’s also referred to as a ton or a hundred. Among the contemporary cricketers, Virat Kohli has the highest number of centuries (71). On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar who’s now retired has 100 centuries.

1. Virat Kohli- 71 international centuries

Indian former skipper Virat Kohli is a top-order batter who tops the list and has 71 centuries attached to his name. He has 27 in Test cricket, 43 in One Day Internationals (ODI), and 1 in T20I. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in August 2008 and scored his first century in 2009 against the same country in Eden Gardens.

2. Joe Root- 44

Former skipper of English Test team Joe Root has piled up 44 centuries. He played 121 Tests and 152 One Day Internationals (ODI) where he scored 28 and 16 tons respectively.

3. David Warner- 43

Australian cricketer David Warner is known for his aggressive batting style. He has scored a total of 43 centuries, 24 in Tests, 18 in ODIs, and 1 in the T20I format. He scored his first ton in his Test debut against New Zealand, where he mustered 123 runs not out.

4. Rohit Shrama- 41

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been a part of the national team since 2007. He mustered 41 centuries, as of now, 29 in ODIs, 8 in Tests and 4 in T20Is. He has hit the highest number of T20I tons.

5. Steve Smith- 40

Former skipper of Australia has scored 28 Test tons and 12 ODI centuries with a batting average of 62.84. He made his debut against Pakistan in July 2010 and his maiden Test century was in the fifth match of 2013 Ashes series where he scored 138 runs

6. Kane Williamson- 37

Kane Williamson represents New Zealand national cricket team. He is also the skipper of all three formats od cricket. He’s 6th on the list having scored 37 centuries, 24 in Tests and 13 in ODIs.

7. Babar Azam 26

The Pakistani skipper has played 42 Tests and 92 One Day Internations (ODIs) as of now. he has scores 7 Test, 17 ODI and 2 T20I centuries. He made his first ton in 2017 against New Zealand after two years of his Test century.

8. Tamim Iqbal- 25

Tamim Iqbal, Bangladeshi cricketer, made his ODI Test debut in 2007 against Zimbabwe and his Test debut against New Zealand in 2008. He has centuries in all the formats of cricket. He has mustered 14 ODI centuries, 10 Test centuries, and 1 T20 ton.

9. Shikhar Dhawan- 24

Shikhar Dhawan is one of the leading run scorers od India. . In his Test debut, he scored the fastest ton ending his innings with 184 runs from 174 balls. He piled up 17 ODI and 7 Test centuries sealing the ninth spot.
