Previously it was reported that at the Consumer Electronics Sales event of 2021, Acer revealed a bunch of its Chromebooks and laptop devices but also that the company has kept some of its upcoming products reserved for the upcoming BETT educational show.
The latest Chromebook to be added to Acer’s fleet is the Spin 511 and Spin 512. Reports indicate that Both the models are 2-in-1 convertibles. The OEM plans to target the education market with the new models as it has been proved to be one of the most demanding areas for high-performing Chromebooks.
According to sources, both the new laptops are powered by Intel chipsets and come with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with 8GB RAM and up to 64GB eMMC storage. Firstly the new Spin 511 comes with an 11.6-inch touchscreen IPS LCD with HD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The next in line, Spin 512 comes with a 12” screen display and comes with HD+ resolution in a 3:2 aspect ratio.
Acer claims that the new Chromebooks are MIL-STD 810H certified to withstand daily wear and tear in the classroom and also offer antimicrobial screen and keyboard coatings. In the specifications, it is listed that the two laptops are powered by Intel’s N4500 and N5100.
Ports include:
- two USB 3.2 Type-C ports
- two standard USB 3.2 Type-A ports
- microSD slot
- headphone/mic combo.
Chromebook Spin 511 goes on sale in April for $400/€369 while the Spin 512 model will be available from March for $430/€400.
