Chromebooks have seen a demand in the last few years and OEMs are bringing new models as well, from budget-centric Chromebooks to premium end ones. Acer has launched two convertible laptops running on Chrome OS – the Chromebook Spin 713 & Chromebook Spin 311 being both ultra-light and long battery-life.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is a premium 2-in-1 laptop is verified as a part of Intel’s Project Athena program, this helps to deliver the latest and most useful computing features to consumers. So, it is powered by latest 10th Gen Intel processors paired with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and up to 256 GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

It features a 13.5-inch 2K VertiView display with 2256 x 1504 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and offers more vertical space than an average notebook. It is durable as well because it is MIL-STD-810G certified and its aluminium chassis is sturdy enough to survive drops from up to 48 inches and to withstand up to 60 kg of downward force, according to Acer.

Being a convertible the Chromebook Spin 713 comes with a 360-degree hinge and is just 16.8 mm thin and weighs only 1.37 kg. The Chromebook Spin 713 is a business-oriented one, so it is equipped with Google’s Chrome Enterprise security solution. For connectivity we have, WiFi 6 dual-band AX201 (802.11ax, 2×2 MU-MIMO) along with Bluetooth 5.0 support.

Coming to the ports, you get two multipurpose USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports (up to 5 Gbps transfer speeds, DisplayPort and USB charging), an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 Type-A port along with a microSD card reader. According to Acer, you can expect 10 hours of battery life along with fast-charging support.

Obviously, this is a premium Chromebook aimed towards professional and office usage if you are comfortable with Chrome OS this 2-in-1 Chromebook can be an ideal solution. The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 has a starting price of $629 in North America and will be available from in July while the Enterprise edition of the Spin 713 will make its way in August starting at $1,099.

This is a budget centric laptop with modest specs, targeted towards educational and entertainment purposes. So, the Chromebook Spin 311 is an 11.6-inch convertible laptop, powered by MediaTek MT8183 processor and weighs just 1 kg.

Acer boasts of 12-hour battery life from the Chromebook and for connectivity, you get both 802.11ac 2×2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 support. As it runs on Chrome OS, the Chromebook supports Android apps via the Google Play Store.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 will be available in North America in July for $259.99.
