FC Goa have completed the signing of Aakash Sangwan, signing a three-year contract with the Gaurs. The former Chennaiyin FC man was a target for Goa since the start of last season, when Manolo Marquez joined the club.
Aged 28, Sangwan is a natural left-back and has made 34 appearances for Chennaiyin over two seasons. He joined them from Punjab FC in 2022, for whom he made 56 appearances in the league.

The Marina Machans already have a replacement for Sangwan, having signed Mandar Rao Desai from East Bengal as part of their recent transfer spree. As a result they are well equipped to deal with the loss of one of their most valuable players.
FC Goa, on the other hand, will be able to play Jay Gupta in central defense, which is actually his natural position. He has been played out of position this entire season by Manolo Marquez, but has thrived in his role.
Now, Gupta might be played in central defence with the arrival of Aakash Sangwan. However, the future of Jay Gupta remains up in the air with recent links to Mohun Bagan SG.
