### So What’s *Cherry Boy* Actually About?

It’s the kind of premise that feels genuinely fresh — a small-town girl with a secret creative life, an unexpected muse who walks in from the big city, and all the messy, funny, tender things that happen in between. This is [coming-of-age](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coming-of-age_story) storytelling at its most relatable, wrapped in a distinctly Korean cultural setting that gives it real flavour and texture.

### Meet the Cast — Who’s Playing Who?

#### 🎬 Lee Jae In — Ok Hee

Lee Jae In plays Ok Hee, a high school student who writes mature fiction with the goal of entering a creative writing program, portraying a youthful character who is both fresh and distinctive. #### 🎬 Kim Mu Jun — Ri Hwan

Kim Mu Jun plays Ri Hwan, a male student who transfers from Seoul in the aftermath of the IMF crisis and inspires Ok Hee. #### 🎬 Jang Da A — Jung Sook

Jang Da A plays Jung Sook, Ok Hee’s best friend who dreams of becoming a celebrity because of her striking looks, bringing lively charm to the story and adding energy to the film. [soompi](https://www.soompi.com/article/1835425wpp/lee-jae-in-kim-mu-jun-jang-da-a-and-more-confirmed-for-new-film) Every great lead needs a best friend like this — and Jang Da A is the perfect pick to bring that spark.

### What the Cast Had to Say

The excitement from the cast is genuinely infectious. Lee Jae In, who completed the script reading, said the session was cheerful and enjoyable from the beginning, and expressed excitement that it would become a fun project.

Kim Mu Jun acknowledged his nerves about taking on a film for the first time, but pledged to do his best alongside the other great actors and the director. Honest, grounded — exactly the kind of energy you want from a debut.
