A new 10 core Intel Core i9-10850K CPU spotted running at 5.2 GHz on Geekbench

Intel’s latest 10th Gen Comet Lake desktop CPUs are focused towards gaming as they have higher clock speeds and more cores & threads than usual. But obviously, in terms of price to performance ratio, Intel is still behind AMD who is still reigning in the CPU market. So, now it seems Intel is working on a cheaper Core i9-10900K alternative which is to be called the Core i9-10850K.

Seems unusual but yes this 10 core CPU was spotted by our tipster friend, @TUM_APISAK which also support Hyperthreading i.e. features 20 threads and by its performance, it looks to be a great Core i9-10900K alternative.

The Intel Core i9-10850K processor is a Comet Lake CPU with 3.6 GHz base clock speed and up to 5.17 GHz (or about 5.20 GHz). The CPU attains 6,244 points in single core performance and 37,794 points in multi core which is pretty good, thanks to the higher clock speeds.

Now, obviously this raises the question, why this CPU? Well, most probably this CPU could be an OEM-exclusive dedicated towards gamers and should give more or less Core i9-10900KF like performance overall. Although if this somehow ends up to be an retail unit then Intel will have to make a better price offering to make it count against AMD.
