# A brief history about Netflix & Gaming and their future

Netflix and gaming are becoming the most popular topic nowadays because of the reports like Bloomberg and the information Netflix is announcing.

**History**

Netflix had a service called Qwikster, which used to deliver games. But now, the Netflix DVD still exists, but they do not ship games. The maximum number of solo games which Netflix released comes from BonusXP. BonusXP operates from Texas.

BonusXP is the one who released Stranger Things 3: The game and the game The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics. In the very past, the first game which Netflix released is a mobile runner game that involves Stranger Things, Narcos, Marco Polo, Orange is the new black.

Most games Netflix has been involved with are established games crossover, mostly and Stranger Things content.

**Future content**

This year in July, Mike Verdue joins Netflix as vice president of game development. Mike overdue previously worked with EA. Bloomberg reported that “the idea is to offer video games on Netflix’s streaming platform within the next year”.

Everyone knows this year the Bridgerton series coming as a game. Shonda Rhimes also expanded her deal with Netflix. We can say that this year Netflix going to announced some mobile gaming. By this, they will face some challenges to move from their sector to the gaming space.

Some peoples are appreciating this step of Netflix on the other hand other criticizing them. On Twitter Andrew Freedman says this can be the point that going towards some number trending down.
