Just like the previous decade, Cristiano Ronaldo has started this new decade in style by breaking the record of Brazilian legend Pele. The Portuguese sensation overtakes Pele in terms of official goals. Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace against Udinese is his 758th official goal in his football career, one more than Pele.

Ronaldo scored twice and provided an assist as Juventus got back to winning ways in Serie A with a 4-1 victory over Udinese in Turin on Sunday, moving the champions up to 5th in the standings.

Cristiano Ronaldo put Juventus into the lead with a trademark drive from the box. He scored his second and Juventus’s 3rd in the 70th minute.

This is Cristiano Ronaldo’s 18th season in professional football. He has played 866 games for the club and scored 656 goals. Ronaldo has represented his country 170 times and scored 102 goals.

It is an incredible achievement to score 758 career goals. Gary Linekar Tweeted, “So Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten Pele’s record for career goals with his 758th strike. That’s about 42 goals a season for 18 years. Mind-blowing.”

Last month Lionel surpassed the record of scoring for the most goals scored for a single club. The Argentine has 715 career goals in total. Though the Argentine has a great chance to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo as he is 2 years younger than the Portuguese.

It is astonishing to see both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are breaking the old records and making a new one at this age as well. Fans will surely want to see the same for some more years.
