Best Solo Counters for Kommo-o

Top Tier Counter: Slowbro/Slowking

The most reliable solo strategy involves using Slowbro or Slowking with a defensive setup approach:

Slowbro	Regenerator	Modest (-Attack, +Sp.Atk)	252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp.Atk	Shell Bell
Slowking	Regenerator	Modest (-Attack, +Sp.Atk)	252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp.Atk	Shell Bell

Recommended Moveset:

Slack Off
Iron Defense
Nasty Plot
Stored Power

Alternative Counter: Espathra

The best counter for the Kommo-o Tera Raid is Espathra! This Psychic-type Pokémon offers excellent type matchups and setup potential for experienced players.

Solo Strategy Guide

Phase 1: Setup Defense

Begin the battle with three Iron Defense to increase your Defense, and then three Nasty Plots to boost your Special Attack. This setup phase is crucial for surviving Kommo-o’s powerful attacks while building your offensive capabilities.

Phase 2: Execute the Sweep

Once set up, use Stored Power which particularly benefits from all the multiple stat boosts. Each stat boost increases Stored Power’s damage significantly, making it devastatingly effective.

Phase 3: Maintain Health

Use Slack Off when your HP drops below 50% to maintain survivability throughout the lengthy battle.

Key Tips for Success

Exploit AI Ally Intimidate

If you want to solo this Raid, try to look for NPC Allies with the Ability Intimidate. This can be immensely helpful, as allies will almost always faint every turn, having them repeatedly send out and lowering Kommo-o’s Attack. The best allies in this situation would be Arcanine, Staraptor, and Paldean Tauros.

Type Advantage Considerations

Fighting-type Kommo-o is weak to Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves. However, pure Fairy-types are not advised. Kommo-o’s Iron Head will take advantage of their Steel-type weakness.

Preparation Checklist

Before entering the raid, ensure you have:

✅ Level 100 Pokémon with proper EVs
✅ Shell Bell or Leftovers for sustain
✅ Raid-optimized moveset
✅ Completed postgame content to access 7-star raids
