Although the 19/20 season of the Bundesliga saw Bayern Munich clinch the title once again, the players of the top tier of German football managed to give it their best to try to usurp the Bavarians from their throne. With the year drawing to a conclusion, we decided to look at the best players from the Bundesliga in 2020 starting with… 

5. Wout Weghorst

The Dutch forward has been heralded by fans as the Netherlands’ answer to Jamie Vardy, and at 28, Weghorst is calling the shots in the Bundesliga. With 18 goals and 2 assists in 2020, Weghorst is the first entry in our top five list. 

4. Manuel Neuer

The Bayern Munich captain managed to concede the least number of goals in the Bundesliga last season, with 32 goals against him and has been a true leader from the back, with the team at the top of the table once again. 

3. Thomas Muller 

With 12 goals and 18 assists this calendar year, the 31-year-old continues to prove that he is still one of the best players in the league and is also one of the most versatile, having been deployed across a variety of positions under Hansi Flick. 

2. Erling Haaland

There is no stopping Erling Braut Haaland from finding the back of the net, and he has done just that since arriving at Dortmund in January. 23 goals and 5 assists in 2020 have made him this year’s Golden Boy, and he finishes second in the list. 

1. Robert Lewandowski 

The best player in all of Europe, Robert Lewandowski had the best year of his career as he managed to finish as the top scorer in every single competition he took part in, along with winning all of them. 32 goals and 6 assists in the Bundesliga in 2020 make him the best in the league without a doubt.
