Now it is official that Xiaomi is not including the charging adapter in the box of the Mi 11. The Mi 11 lineup is scheduled for 28th December to launch in China. The global launch date of the phone has not been revealed. Yesterday a tipster shared the packing box image of the phone claiming that the phone will not come with a charger. Today, the company has officially revealed the Mi 11 packing box claiming that the phone will not be shipped with a charging adapter in the box.
This kind of marketing we have seen in the launch event of the Apple iPhone 12 series, where the company had claimed that they will not ship the phone with any charger. Following the path, Xiaomi seems to have decided to exclude the charging adapter as well from the retail box. There are a few speculations and rumors that the next flagship series of Samsung will also exclude the charging adapter from the box.
This is the official video from Xiaomi revealing the retail box of the Mi 11. The company claims that the box will be lighter for 2021 and acclamation is backed by Lei Jun’s post in Weibo revealing the cause of this decision. In his post he has mentioned the reason why the company has taken this huge step by excluding the charging adapter from the retail box of Mi 11.
Reason of Excluding the Charging Adapter from the retail box of Mi 11:
As per Lei Jun, due to “environment protection,” Xiaomi has taken this step by excluding the charging adapter from the retail box of Mi 11. This acclamation has also been backed up by an argument claiming that the smartphone users who will buy the phone will also have charging adapters at home received from their previous phone box. So, an addition to the adapter will be meaningless at this point. So the company does not want to create more burden on the environment and this making the box slimmer so that fewer materials will be used in the process of manufacturing and causing less harm to the environment.
As of now, most of the companies are thinking of this solution for creating less burden on the environment thus putting a step forward to protect it. We have seen Apple and now Xiaomi, even Samsung may follow this step. We don’t know which company will do it next, but we do want to know is there any better solution for protecting the environment other than excluding the charger from the box of new phones?
