There are a few days on the NBA calendar which stand out from the normal days. NBA Opening Day, MLK Day, NBA All-Star Game, NBA Playoffs. One of those days which stand out for NBA fans and players is the Christmas days. Every year a few highly anticipated matchups play against each other on the Christmas Day.
This year too, we have five highly star-stuffed showcases starting from 25th December 10:30 PM (IST) and the last match on 26th December 9:00 AM (IST).
Here is our ranking to the 5 matches on the NBA Christmas Day:-
- Milwaukee Bucks vs Golden State Warriors (1:00 AM)
The Bucks will be hosting the Warriors at the Fiserv Forum as one of the 5 matches. Stars like Stephen Curry, Khris Middleton and former Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo will be taking on the floor and battling out against each other.
Even though it will be a good matchup, one can’t really say how competitive this game could be considering the new and inexperienced Warriors team.
- Los Angeles Clippers vs Denver Nuggets (9:00 AM)
A rematch of last year’s Western Conference Semifinals will take place at Denver’s Pepsi Center. The Clippers had a 3-1 lead against the Nuggets in last season’s playoffs match, but it was the Nuggets who stole the show by winning the series 4-3. The Clippers have lost a few men including former Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell, but have also gained a few men like Serge Ibaka. This match could be a good recap of what the Western Conference Semifinals between the two teams felt like and will definitely not fail to entertain us.
- Miami Heat vs New Orleans Pelicans (10:30 PM)
Zion Williamson and Co. will be hosted by the Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena for the first match of the Christmas Day games. The defending Eastern Conference Champions, Miami Heat started their 2020-2021 campaign with a disappointing 6 point loss against Orlando. Whereas, New Orleans Pelicans had a great game winning the match comfortably by 14 points. The new additions like Steve Adams and Eric Bledsoe had a good debut for the Pelicans and played a vital role in their victory. This match for sure will be entertaining as both teams have some potential All-Star talent.
- Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Lakers (6:30 AM)
A young Dallas team led by the young Luka Doncic will be facing the defending champions led by LeBron James who is in his 18th season and doesn’t show any sign of slowing down yet. Both the teams had an opening night loss and would be hungry for their first win of the season. And what better day to start their campaign with a win other than the Christmas Day game? Both, the Lakers and the Mavericks have been a talented and entertaining team to watch on TV. This match is a definite ‘must-watch’ for all the NBA fans.
- Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics (3:30 AM)
We finally got to see the healthy duo, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant this year. They had an immediate impact for the team, scoring a combined 48 points in their win against the Golden State Warriors. Boston, too, are coming off the most nail-biting game of the tip-off night, taking a narrow 122-121 win against the Milwaukee Bucks. Kyrie Irving will be playing against his former team on Christmas Day – what better headline does an NBA fan want?
The matchup of Brooklyn’s offence vs Boston’s defence will definitely get you glued to your TV.
