BCCI President Roger Binny acknowledged the significance of the achievement, stating, Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”

Historic Run of Success for India

India’s recent performances in ICC tournaments have been nothing short of phenomenal. Over the last three global limited-overs events, they have recorded 23 wins in 24 completed matches.

Their only defeat came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, ending a ten-match winning streak in that competition. ICC’s Prize Pool Sees Record Increase

In addition to the BCCI’s financial reward, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had already announced a cash prize of USD 2.24 million for the Champions Trophy winners. Each victory in the group stage and Super Six phase added an extra USD 34,000 to the earnings, excluding the semi-finals and final.

The overall prize pool for the tournament stood at USD 6.9 million, reflecting a 53% increase from the 2017 edition. The runners-up, New Zealand, were awarded USD 1.12 million, while semi-finalists South Africa and Australia received USD 560,000 each. Every participating team was guaranteed a minimum of USD 125,000 for their efforts in the competition.
