Slaven Bilic sacked as West Brom coach; Big Sam to the rescue again

The unforgiving nature of having a job in the Premier League showed itself earlier today as West Brom announced the sacking of their first team manager, Slaven Bilic.

Despite only joining the club in 2019, the Croatian managed to lead the Baggies back into the Premier League as they finished second in the Championship in the 19/20 season.

In their 13 games played in the Premier League so far, West Brom have managed to win only one game. Their 1-0 victory against the still-winless Sheffield United who could be relegated by Christmas.

West Brom are currently 19th in the table, ahead of Sheffield United with 7 points from 4 draws in their games. Two of those have been against the Big Six of the Premier League, Chelsea and most recently, Manchester City.

Assistant coaches Dean Računica and Danilo Butorović and first team coach Julian Dicks have followed Bilic out of West Brom as well.

Sam Allardyce once again has a half-season Premier League job to get West Brom out of the relegation zone. Big Sam’s announcement as temporary head coach of the club took place recently, as confirmed by the club’s Twitter.

The new coach will be expected to see out the remainder of the Premier League campaign for the Baggies and will most likely not be offered a long term contract. However, things could look more concrete if he manages to get West Brom into a run of form.
