SSMB 29: SS Rajamouli’s Next With Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra & Prithviraj To Explore the History of Kashi

SS Rajamouli is gearing up for his next big project tentatively titled as SSMB 29. This upcoming film, led by Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is expected to be a grand jungle adventure with a strong connection to Indian history and mythology. While the official announcement is yet to be made, sources confirm that the film is slated for a Summer 2027 release.

Grand Jungle Adventure With a Historical Twist

Following the massive success of Magadheera, Eega, Baahubali, and RRR, Rajamouli is now working on his most ambitious project yet. This time, the story is set against the backdrop of an intense jungle adventure, deeply rooted in the history of Kashi. The filmmaker is known for creating cinematic masterpieces, and this one is no exception.

According to a source close to the project,

“The core conflict of the jungle adventure unfolds in Kashi, and the makers are looking to recreate the land of Shiva in Hyderabad, as it’s logistically difficult to can a film of this scale at real locations. The plot of SSR x SSMB is deeply rooted in the history of Kashi, as the divine past leads to an unforgettable adventure in the present. Kashi serves itself as a very important character of the film.”

Since shooting in Kashi itself could be challenging, the team is planning to build massive sets in Hyderabad to recreate the holy city. The film will reportedly blend history and mythology with thrilling action, taking the audience on an unforgettable journey.

Stunning Locations and Spectacular Visuals

SS Rajamouli is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to visuals. The film will be shot in a hybrid format—some scenes will be filmed at real locations in forests, while others will be shot on intricately designed sets. The team is exploring untouched landscapes in India and Africa to create breathtaking visuals.

“Right from forests, to rivers, to caves—SS Rajamouli is looking to take the audience on an unforgettable adventure in different landscapes. Some of the most virgin locations of India and Africa are being explored to provide an unforgettable cinematic experience,” the source revealed.

This approach aligns perfectly with Rajamouli’s reputation for delivering visually stunning films that transport audiences into a different world.

Priyanka Chopra’s Big Bollywood Comeback

While Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj have already begun shooting, Priyanka Chopra is set to join the team in Odisha, where crucial jungle sequences are being filmed. This movie marks Priyanka’s long-awaited return to Indian cinema, and fans are excited to see her in such a massive project.

“SSMB 29 will be Priyanka Chopra’s comeback project in India. She is crafting a massive return to the home-turf, and what better than a global project like this to announce the return,” shared a source.

Priyanka’s presence adds an international appeal to the film, making it even more exciting for fans worldwide.

Big Budget

The makers of SSMB 29 are aiming for a film that competes with the best in global cinema. A top international studio is said to be backing the project, ensuring that the film meets world-class production standards. SSMB29 is a high-budget action-adventure film with an estimated budget of Rs 1000 crore.

While the official announcement is still a few months away, the excitement is already building. Apart from the main trio—Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj—many other big names are part of the cast, but their identities are being kept under wraps for now.

SSMB 29 Release Confirmed

Fans won’t have to wait too long for this epic adventure, as SSMB 29 is set for a Summer 2027 release. Given SS Rajamouli’s track record of delivering blockbusters, expectations are sky-high for this project.
