Intel seems positive of its upcoming CPU line-up

We already know at this point that intel has lost its crown as the king of silicon valley. The reason is pretty simple; its chips are not performing well in the market. We are not talking about the CPUs’ sales; in terms of market, intel still takes the lead. But its wafers are merely not matching in performance to its rival AMD.

But, Intel’s EVP and GM of the Client Computing Group, Gregory Bryant, said that “We’ve always said, only the paranoid survive. I think that’s alive and well inside of this company. And I take all competition, whether from Apple or the other ARM guys, Qualcomm, MediaTek, or AMD—I take that all very seriously. Anytime you’re a growth business and a healthy business, there’s going to be competition. We intend to compete and to grow. And we feel good about our performance and our roadmap.”

According to sources, intel indeed seems to have some pretty fantastic line-up. As we know that it’s 10 nm Tiger Lake-H SKUs for high-performance gaming and content creator laptops will be available in H1 2021. At the same time, its Rocket Lake-S (14 nm), which will target mainstream desktops, is set to launch in Q1 2021.

Intel will also launch its next-gen hybrid architecture with Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-S next year. It will be a combination of low-power Gracemont and high-power Golden Cove cores. Owing to the onslaught from AMD’s Zen 3, intel has a hard time staying in the game. Tiger Lake has somewhat improved the situation, but it is nowhere near to tackle AMD’s growth.

Also adding to intel’s troubles, Apple has launched its M1 SoC-based Macs and stole the thunder from both x86 giants with a rumored M1X reported to be even more potent than M1 chips. But its  EVP and GM of the Client Computing Group, Gregory Bryant, is confident that Intel will grow in the next-year desktop space sector. Whether it will come true, only time will tell.
