Big Techs are facing issues with antitrust authorities in the United States. WSJ has recently reported that federal and state antitrust authorities of the US are going to file new lawsuits against Google and Facebook, the two leading techs.
As per the report, both the tech companies are facing four more cases. It is assumed that these cases will get filed by the end of January 2021. Just a few weeks before the Justice Department filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google.
Seeing the new legal troubles for the companies, the officials are probing both Facebook and Google proclaiming that they have misused their position in the industry to dominate the Social Media, Search, and Advertising sectors.
In the United States, it will be the first time that Facebook will face an antitrust lawsuit. However, both Google and Facebook have denied doing so and stated that they are offering most of their service for free which benefits the customer, being in a highly competitive market.
Amazon, Google, Apple, and Facebook all these big four companies had faced a congressional panel this year and all four are now under scrutiny by the antitrust officials. It is assumed by seeing the report that this month, FTC is going to file its case against Facebook. Meanwhile, in the coming days, we could see filing another case against the social media giants from a coalition of the state attorney general.
