Although there was a slight dip in collections on the first Friday, Pushpa 2 rebounded impressively over the weekend, earning Rs 119.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 141.05 crore on Sunday.

Aiming for the Top

As Pushpa 2 continues to captivate audiences, it is now on the verge of surpassing the lifetime collection of RRR, which stands at Rs 782.2 crore. The film has already made history as the fastest Indian movie to cross the Rs 1,000 crore milestone worldwide. According to the film’s production banner, Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa 2 grossed Rs 1067 crore in its first week alone, marking the highest first-week gross ever in Indian cinema.

Challenges Amidst Success

Despite its phenomenal success, the film’s journey has not been without challenges. A tragic incident occurred during the premiere at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a stampede resulted in the death of one fan and left her son critically injured. In connection with this incident, Allu Arjun was arrested but has since been granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court. This unfortunate event has cast a shadow over the film’s success, but support for Arjun has poured in from various quarters, including fellow actor Varun Dhawan.
