Intel Arc B580 Spotted on Geekbench, Specs Revealed

Intel‘s Arc B580 has appeared on Geekbench once again, giving us some more insight into the future release of their Xe2-based ‘Battlemage’ GPU. Intel’s Battlemage discrete GPUs are reportedly just weeks from launch, but the company hasn’t said a peep about the release. The number of SKUs for the Battlemage lineup is still uncertain, but there’s no shortage of leaks around the Arc B580 and its availability will happen soon.

Intel Arc B580 ‘Battlemage’ GPU Leaks on Geekbench with 20 Xe2 Cores and 12GB VRAM

Geekbench surfaced details related to the B580, which has been tested with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor alongside a Gigabyte Z890 AORUS Master motherboard. The GPU achieved an OpenCL benchmark score of 78,743 points. While this score does seem a bit anemic, it’s important to note that there’s a whole array of tests that Geekbench performs to yield a performance score, and OpenCL is a relatively aged API. Battlemage GPUs are 100% optimized for DX12 Ultimate and Vulkan APIs, where the picture may be different.

Based on Intel’s Xe2 architecture, the Arc B580 packs 160 Compute Units, or 20 Xe2 cores-four less than its predecessor. Of course, the new architecture likely promises more performance across the board despite fewer cores, though we’ll have to wait to see if the gains are significant once we confirm the exact details. The B580 also features 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM along a 192-bit memory bus, bumping up from 4 GB on its predecessor.

The only bit does mean a small downgrade in bandwidth due to the narrow memory bus width. Still, with twice the memory bandwidth, the larger size should help with 1080p gaming, which appears to be Intel’s target for the B580. The B580 is expected to have a max boost clock of up to around 2.8 GHz, higher still in custom AIB versions. According to leaks, the ASRock Arc B580 Steel Legend is expected to feature dual 8-pin connectors, three fans, and RGB lighting, while a more basic Challenger Series B580 is said to have a single 8-pin connector and dual fans.
