I-League Clubs Accuse AIFF of Gross Mismanagement Amid Broadcast Crisis

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is facing mounting allegations from I-League clubs over a range of issues that have jeopardized the league’s future.

SSEN, which has little to no experience in streaming football matches, is seen as an unreliable partner for broadcasting a professional football league.

Ranjit Bajaj, the owner of Delhi FC, pointed out a significant decline in the AIFF’s funds, from ₹22 crores in 2017 to a near-depleted state in 2024. The ILCA questions whether this financial decline is a result of mismanagement within the federation.

The financial instability is exacerbated by the AIFF’s failure to finalize the tender for the I-League’s broadcast rights, a move that further jeopardizes the league’s financial future. With the season fast approaching and no viable broadcasting solution in place, the I-League’s plans for the upcoming season are in limbo.
