Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revealed a fresh new logo symbolizing trust, strength, and nationwide connectivity. This move comes as BSNL prepares for the much-anticipated launch of its 4G network across India. In addition to the logo, the company introduced seven new services designed to enhance the digital experience for its customers, including a real-time spam-blocking solution, Wi-Fi roaming, and live intranet TV services.
Union Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, described the launch as the beginning of a transformative era for BSNL, reinforcing its mission to offer seamless, affordable, and accessible connectivity to every corner of the country.
Key New Services by BSNL
1. Spam-Blocking Solution:
BSNL introduced a new custom spam-blocking solution that promises to provide a spam-free network experience for its users. This system detects and blocks scam messages and spam communications in real time, ensuring a more secure and reliable mobile experience for BSNL subscribers.
2. Wi-Fi Roaming:
BSNL has also rolled out Wi-Fi roaming, enabling its users to connect to any BSNL FTTH (Fiber to the Home) Wi-Fi network while traveling. This means that BSNL customers can enjoy seamless connectivity even when they are on the go, without needing to switch between networks manually.
3. Intranet Live TV Service:
Another exciting new feature is BSNL’s intranet live TV service. This service offers access to over 500 premium TV channels via BSNL’s fibre-based FTTH network. Users can stream live television through their fiber connection, enhancing their home entertainment experience with high-quality, uninterrupted TV content.
4. Any Time SIM (ATS) Kiosks:
BSNL is also simplifying the process of obtaining a new SIM card. The new Any Time SIM (ATS) kiosks will allow customers to purchase a SIM card, complete the necessary KYC (Know Your Customer) process, and activate their SIM automatically at any time. This initiative is aimed at making it easier and faster for people to get connected.
5. Satellite-to-Device SMS Connectivity:
In a first for India, BSNL announced satellite-to-device connectivity for SMS services. This allows customers to send and receive text messages from virtually anywhere, including land, air, and sea, ensuring connectivity even in the most remote areas.
6. Disaster Management Network:
BSNL also introduced a one-time solution network service for disaster management. This service aims to provide secure, stable, and uninterrupted communication in times of emergencies, ensuring connectivity when it is most needed.
7. 5G for Mining Sector:
BSNL revealed plans for a secure 5G network tailored specifically for the mining industry, focusing on improving communication and safety within this critical sector.
BSNL’s 4G and 5G Plans
BSNL is rapidly expanding its 4G network across India and aims to complete this nationwide rollout by 2025. The company has also seen a rise in subscriber numbers, thanks to its affordable recharge plans, especially after competitors like Airtel, Jio, and Vi raised their tariffs. Once its 4G rollout is complete, BSNL plans to launch its 5G network within six to eight months, offering cutting-edge technology and services to its customers.
