Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025, likely January at least and we have some big front design changes on this upcoming flagship. The display corners are quite sharp on the present version of Galaxy S24 Ultra, and new speculations have begun circulating that Samsung might change this point soon enough or with the approaching launch of its other versions perhaps.
More About the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
This change in rounded corners will be evident on the Galaxy S25 Ultra as well, based on a photo of its front glass or screen protector shared by leakster Ice Universe unlike the sharp edges found at last year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra. From the looks of it, Samsung going with some familiar design elements again but we know the S24 Ultra is much boxier compared to its sibling Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus.
This shift to a subtle corners type will make Samsung more competitive, considering that even Google with its Pixel 9 series has gone boxier with softer edges. Apple moved to a rounded-corners display design with the 2017 release of the iPhone X and has stuck with it ever since.
The new rounded design for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to improve ergonomics, making the device more comfortable to hold. Not only will the display feature softer corners, but the device’s overall chassis will follow suit, although leaked images suggest these rounded corners will remain subtle compared to competitors.
Despite these minor changes, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely retain much of its signature design while improving handling due to the slight curves. Another leak from Ice Universe shows screen protectors for all three Galaxy S25 models, including the Ultra, offering a glimpse of the upcoming designs.
The images also reveal a slight reduction in bezels, which could make the S25 Ultra a strong competitor against the iPhone 16 Pro models. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus appear to have marginally larger bezels, though this could be an illusion caused by the angle of the leaked images.
